College Money Management BootCamp - The best insurance for your college education.

Parents, when it comes to sending your kids to college...

  • Are your worried that your child will ruin their credit while they're in college?
  • Are you concerned that your child will borrow so much in student loans that, no matter which career they choose, they will never be able to make ends meet?
  • If you're certain you've exhausted every opportunity for financial aid, would it surprise you if I told you I guarantee that you haven't?
  • Did you know that your child is more likely to drop out of school because of money management issues than because of drug, alcohol or academic issues combined?
  • Did you know that one of the main reasons college is more expensive for the average person is because it takes the average person an extra year to finish? (An additional $25,000-$40,000 in tuition room and board.) And more importantly, would you like an easy solution to correct this?
  • Are you concerned that your child either doesn't care about personal finance or just has no clue what things really cost?
  • Are you worried that your child is giving away dangerous information about themselves on myspace and facebook without knowing it? Information that makes them a prime target for identity theft or something even worse? Do you feel like you don't know how to tackle this issue?
  • Did you know that by the time you finished reading this website, 11 US jobs will be shipped overseas?
  • Do you want your kids to have it better than you had, but, just cannot see how that is going to happen?
  • And most important of all, are you worried that as soon as your student graduates, they will move back home?
If you're like one of the hundreds of parents I've spoken to in my travels across the country then probably more than one of these questions is gnawing away at you. That's the bad news. Now here's the good news:

Would you be interested if I could:

  • Show you the well meaning but dangerous financial "advice" you're currently telling your child? What it is, why it's so dangerous, and what to say instead?
  • Show you and your child the three most overlooked sources of financial aid?
  • Get your child excited about all aspects of personal finance? Get them approaching you about building their credit, saving their money and opening a Roth IRA?
  • Reveal the three reasons college students almost never get their budgets to work and what they can do about it?
  • Tell your child the three steps to ID-theft-proof their myspace and facebook pages without changing any of the content?
  • Set up a plan for your child to ensure they never borrow more than they can handle in student loans?
  • Show you how to give your child a great credit score without them ever having to use a credit card?
  • Show your child 5 easy ways to get their GPA above a 3.5 without studying any harder?
  • Prove that the total amount of what you will pay for college is determined before your child walks through the door and what you should do today to keep costs down?
  • Show your child how to start thinking like a "free agent entrepreneur" from the first day of college so they can succeed in today's job market and protect themselves from downsizing and outsourcing?
  • Answer all those "tough" financial questions that are bothering you? (Like, "should my daughter get a credit card?")
  • Give your child competent, unbiased, affordable, financial advice ever year, for the rest of their life?

"Hey Peter, it's Joey from Lynn University. I attended your ed session on Thursday. If you remember I told you that I went online and checked out my report online and order the scores to be sent to me.  I checked my score and it is 702!  My "AHA Moment" during your presentation was when you talked about people creating budgets and that we never take into consideration all of the small things like a soda, coffee, newspaper, magazine, etc. throughout our day. Thanks again."

In short, would you be interested if I could help you and your child set yourselves up to win the college game?

The College Money Management BootCamp is the first transition-to-college boot camp that focuses on the number one reason why college students dropout: money management problems. Students are more likely to drop out of college because of money management problems than because of academic, alcohol or drug problems combined. With the skyrocketing cost of tuition, students literally need to "set themselves up to win" before they walk through the dorm room door. The College Money Management BootCamp is a one day financial life changing event that comes with a lifetime of financial updates to keep students informed all through college and beyond.

As a parent, you and your child are about to embark on a six figure college investment - an investment that the US Department of Education says 45% of students will never complete. Protect your six figure investment by sending your child to this one day life changing event.

Who's behind this event?

My name is Peter Bielagus and I am a licensed financial advisor who specializes in young Americans. For the last four years colleges nationwide have paid me several thousand dollars per program to help their students improve their credit, budget their money, even save for retirement. And while I greatly appreciate the opportunity to help college students jumpstart their finances, I realized that sometimes I am too late. I myself got into serious credit card debt during my first six months of college. I also noticed that in every one of my college audiences, there were always a small number of students who were just a bit more ambitious than the rest when it came to managing their money. I wanted to create a program to help ambitious high school students with the transition to college, emphasizing the number one problem among college students today - money management. I wanted to address the most common problems college students have before those problems had a chance to occur. (For more information about me please visit my website www.peterbspeaks.com or just type "Peter Bielagus" into Google.)

Who is invited to the event?

The event is for college bound high school juniors and seniors. HOWEVER, I am LIMITING the number of attendees to only 35 students. I only want students who are serious about setting themselves up to win the financial game early on in life.

"Thanks again for your excellent presentation at Plymouth State University on Saturday. We're still talking about how much we enjoyed your presentation - and the way you delivered it was great!!

I would like to tell you about my "A HA" moment (actually I had a few), but the most educational for me was when you were discussing credit scores and how easily they can be influenced by our decisions, as well as what to look out for when reviewing them. I had no idea employer's had access to, or even cared to know that type of information.

Again, thank you - I speak for myself as well as several of my colleagues when I say that you did a phenomenal job and really opened our eyes"

~Jeremy J. Foskitt Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH

Why is the enrollment limited to only 35 students?

I want to be sure that each attendee gets as much individual attention before, during AND after the seminar. Before the seminar starts, every attendee will be emailed a questionnaire asking them to identify their questions, concerns, fears and interests. I'll process the data and be sure to customize the day based on the feedback. I also want only students who are serious, because one big part of this seminar is the networking opportunities. The other students at the seminar are just as important as the speakers. The seminar comes with a complete online goal support system. Students will form mastermind groups at the seminar, set goals and then inspire each other via email throughout their college careers and even, throughout their lives. So it's important to me that we have an audience filled only with students who are ambitious to jumpstart their financial lives.

Can parents come too?

Yes, but not for the entire event. The last hour of the event will consist of a special "parents only" session. I will cover all the "tough" questions I get from parents about young people and money management like:

  • Should I let my son/daughter get a credit card of her own?
  • Should I let them use mine?
  • What is the best way to make sure they stay on budget with the money I give them for books, food etc?
  • Are we borrowing too much to pay for college?
  • And more!

I will also reveal the little known resources for grabbing every last free dollar for tuition. I'll show parents how to get your kids to respect money without becoming financial monsters. What's more, whether you attend the parent's session or not, you will receive Peter's Parental Playbook that will provide answers to every conceivable financial problem you and your college bound student might run into - from credit card debt to cuts in financial aid.

When and where is the event?

The next The College Money Management BootCamp will be held on Saturday, May 12 in Portsmouth, NH at the Sheraton Wayfarer on Market Street from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

We already have a commitment that day. Is there anything we can do?

Yes. Call us anyway. We are in the process of scheduling additional seminars, but have not determined the dates and locations. Call us and let us know what days work for you for additional seminars.

I'd like to come to that last hour for the parent's session at the end of the day. If I were to visit in Portsmouth for the day, what is there to do?

More like what isn't there to do in Portsmouth. Restaurants, shops, outlet shopping just over the bridge in Kittery, ME. Visit www.portsmouthnh.com for info on everything.

Wait, that's Mothers Day weekend!

How about this? Why not send your son or daughter to the BootCamp, then join us for the last hour for the parent's session. Then go out with the family for a Mother's Day dinner in Portsmouth.

"I was in the financial advising/investment field for over 40 years and the one thing I heard from every single one of my clients was, "I wish I started earlier." Peter's generation is lucky to have him out there, teaching the financial tools that other generations never had. There's no doubt in my mind, his message is a must."

~Ernie Faminghetti, Former Manager of the billion-dollar New England Trust Fund

You mentioned there are other speakers. Who are they?

I'm honored to be joined by two fellow speakers, Susie Gallucci and Zack Saunders.

Susie Gallucci will be speaking on networking, leadership, health and fitness. Susie is a former US Marine and professional athlete who now speaks nationwide to students and professionals. If you are curious to read more, click here. Or check out Susie's website at www.susiespeaks.com

Zack Saunders will be speaking on getting better grades without working all that hard. Zack is the president of "Above And Beyond Tutoring," a NH based company helping high school students do better in school. Zack aced the SATs and turned himself from a C student in high school into an A student in college. At the seminar he'll show your son or daughter how to do the same. For more about Zack, click here.

Hey Peter,

My name is John, I saw your presentation last night and I thought it was great. I just wanted to tell you a little story real quick. Well last night before you spoke, my friends and I were only going to go because our teacher told us if we write a paper on what you talked about we could receive extra credit. Although after your talk I didn't even care about the extra credit any more because I came away with so much information. I had no idea what a Fico score was. I just wanted to thank you for taking time to talk to all of us. I also can't wait to read your book. Thank you again."

What will students get for attending?

This life changing event starts before your student even arrives and doesn't end when the day is over.

As soon as a student enrolls, they will be emailed a questionnaire of their interests, difficulties and frustrations. You as a parent will get one as well. I'll use your responses to tailor the seminar to the attendees and identify other students at the seminar with whom your son or daughter should network.

Upon arrival your child can look forward to a life changing event. Our speakers will show your child:

  • How to get better grades without working any harder.
  • The reason most students can't stick to a budget and what they can do about it.
  • How to protect themselves from identity theft. (Students are a prime target for criminals because of their myspace and facebook pages. I'll show your child how to safeguard their site without cutting into the fun of online communities.)
  • The myths of the scholarship game and how they can win the big money scholarships, regardless of their GPA!
  • How to build good credit without getting up to their eyeballs in debt. (Includes a COMPLETE discussion of credit cards and all their tricky parts.)
  • How to begin saving for their retirement even if they think they don't have a dime.
  • What they need to do now in order to get their dream job right out of college.
  • How much college REALLY costs and how they can plan to balance the cost of college and graduate school with their career choice.

In short we'll show them what they can do NOW to set themselves up to win the financial game.

For a schedule of the day click here.

During the seminar, we will also get students together in mastermind groups where like students with like goals will promise to help each other out via our online community all throughout college. They will also be paired with one other student to act as their success buddy. They'll set goals and deadlines and hold each other accountable long after the conference is done.

PLUS! As my gift to your son or daughter, they will receive:

"The most helpful thing about your presentation was, well everything.  Probably for me, your way of presenting the information. For kids like me who are ADD to the core, it's hard to focus on dull, dreary speakers and the way you interacted with the audience and got us to do silly things worked so well to keep everyone focused on you, because you
were so fun. I have heard so many people raving about what a cool speaker you were. So-thanks for your time, and keep giving your speeches."

Okay, so for all this, what is the investment?

The cost for the entire day, with a light breakfast, lunch and snacks provided is only $295.00 (provided you sign up before May 1st.) After May 1st, the price increases to $395.00

My child and I have already attended many college planning events and those were free. What makes this one so different that I would pay for it?

Let me begin by saying I tip my hat to you that you attended those other events. With the skyrocketing college costs everything helps. This event is different in two primary ways:

First, we are limiting the number of attendees so we can focus our attention on a specific number. Also you'll know that those who do attend will be great pillars of support for your child, because they have made not just a time commitment but also a financial commitment to show up.

Second, it's much more than a one day event. The event starts long before everyone arrives with pre-questionnaires and doesn't really end when the day is over. We will create an online community with mastermind groups, success buddies and even provide your child with a LIFETIME of competent, unbiased financial information. Our goal is not to speak to students. Our goal is to change financial lives.

"Dear Peter,

As a senior at Souhegan High School, I was able to attend your lecture about personal finance a little over a month ago. I was very impressed with your presentation and found that I, like many of my peers, enjoyed it very much. I think that the presentation was such a success because you were able to break down the concepts of personal finance into simple, practical steps. Throughout the lecture you concisely told us what we ought to do and why we should do that. I found this sort of break-down very helpful in understanding the concepts.

~Shaun G. Souhegan High School; Amherst, NH

Can't I just get all this information on my own from books and stuff?

The truth is, yes. You could certainly scour enough books, attend enough workshops and interview enough experts to find out what I will be revealing here. But keep three things in mind:

First, I'm not sure you could find this information in a cost effective way. It has taken me over four years, performing over 300 speeches, reading over 450 books, and speaking to over 25,000 college students to compile this information and then sift through it to find the most important and factually accurate information. You certainly could do that on your own, if you wanted to make the same commitment.

Also keep in mind that I am bit of an anomaly in the financial world. I am a young person who speaks to young people about personal finance. For the past four years college students have whispered their financial troubles into my ear. I've identified the most common problems and found workable solutions that students nationwide are using today. And I'd like to share them with you and your child so you can prepare before it becomes a problem.

And finally, presentation is just as important as content. Millions of parents tell their children to "study hard," "watch what you spend," or "don't charge what you can't afford to pay back." Many parents know what to say. It's the presentation that's been the problem. I've spent the last three years not only researching what to say, but how to say it to get young America excited about money management.

Hmmm...I'm still not sure. I just feel like we're spending so much money for college already that this is just more money.

Look at it this way, would you invest $295 to protect an investment of $150,000? Remember that:

  • According to the US Department of Education, nearly half of all students who enroll in college never graduate.
  • 2/3 of all college students graduate in not four but five years, cost an extra $25-$40,000 in tuition, fees, room and board.
  • Last year the credit industry issued over five billion solicitations consumers. (Even if credit cards are banned on your child's campus, the companies will still reach them!)

In addition to these national statistics, I have plenty of my own to share. I've had students under the age of 20 confess to me they have accounts in collections. I met a young man age 23 who had 20 (yes 20) credit cards. I met a girl last year who was a victim of identity theft simply because of what she put on her myspace page.

So while I understand that you are already making a huge investment in college, think of The College Money Management BootCamp as your insurance on that investment.

I'd actually like to buy several tickets to give to my clients to give to their children. Is there a discount for bulk ticket orders?

Yes. The cost of the seminar is $295 if you register before May 1st. But two people can buy a $550 ticket. And THREE people can buy a $600 ticket. If you are interested in buying four or more tickets at once, please call us at 603-606-5685.

Will the college money management bootcamp be traveling all over the country?  I represent an organization that would actually like to bring this to our area.  How much would that cost for a private session with the parents of our group and their kids?

Absolutely the college money management bootcamp will be traveling!  Please call us at 603-606-5685 to learn the details.

Okay you sold me. Where do I sign up my child?
